Paramita Nath

I was born and raised in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya in India's Northeast. I moved to Canada to study western classical music in 1996 (piano performance), and my search for a creative (...) medium led me to nonfiction filmmaking. My first short "Found" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. My second short "Durga" premiered at Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival. I have also worked in interactive digital media, and stage directed two contemporary chamber operas. I am currently embarking on a nonfiction film project that explores the concepts of belonging and migration.
