The Manfred Durniok Foundation supports Berlinale Talents by generously providing funds to help offset the travel expenses of Southeast Asian Talents.

The Manfred Durniok Foundation is a non-profit entity established to promote cultural exchange between Germany and Asia, to grant scholarships and award prizes, and to give financial support to events, projects and intercultural gatherings. The Berlin-based filmmaker and producer Manfred Durniok, who passed away in 2003, had a deep passion for Southeast Asian culture. Manfred Durniok’s daughter and heir, Ayano Teramoto, established the foundation in his memory.
