
Mo Lai Yan Chi Film Director /Theatre Director, Script/Screenwriter, Actor and University Lecturer The winner of Young Artist (Film) of Hong Kong (HK) Arts Development Awards and an awardee of Ten Outstanding Young Person in HK. She is selected as Academy Talent at The Golden Horse Film Academy and Berlinale Talent at The Berlin International Film Festival. Mo was a senior lecturer at universities in Hong Kong and directed at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London as a project director. She was the former president of FM Theatre Power in HK and now as the Artistic Director of Mo Production Company Limited. Her solo theatre play “Women in Red”was staged at the HK Queen Elizabeth Stadium and was the opening performance at the International Community Arts Festival in the Netherlands. Her solo “The White Shadow” was selected for the San Francisco International Arts Festival. She was funded by West Kowloon District Authority and HK Arts Development Council to conduct research on performance in public spaces in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and London under the Overseas Research Program for Leaders from Local Arts Groups on Future Arts Development in Hong Kong. Her latest theatre directing project “Book of Longing” is a musical theatre piece by Phillip Glass based on the original poetry and images by Leonard Cohen. It was staged at The Box, the largest black box theatre in HK. Her debut film “1+1” won The Gold Award in IFVA and Best Film Award at Fresh Wave International Film Festival and it also entered in the Udine Far East Film Festival and Vancouver International Film Festival. Film “N+N” entered in the HK Asian Film Festival. Her recent film “BAND FOUR” got four nominations at 42nd HK Film Awards: -Best Actress -Best New Performer -Best Original Film Song And won the Best Original Film Score
