Xu is a Shanghai filmmaker based in New York. Her work explores Asian diasporic and queer identities through cultural conflicts and class struggles. She is a winner of Best Woman Director at the 2020 Director Guild of America’s Student Film Awards, a Talents Tokyo alumna, and she holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University.
