Creative Europe MEDIA
Creative Europe MEDIA provides financial support to Europe’s film and audiovisual industries for the development, distribution and promotion of their work. It nurtures projects with a European dimension and helps launch new technologies; it enables European films and audiovisual works to find audiences and markets beyond national and European borders; it funds training and market access worldwide; and it supports international co-productions, audience development and film literacy projects.
As a part of the EU’s Creative Europe programme, Creative Europe MEDIA has been a key partner of Berlinale Talents since its very first edition in 2003. The two partners share the same goals of training professionals, developing projects, building international networks, bridging markets and enabling access to new technologies. Both Berlinale Talents and Creative Europe MEDIA aim to help filmmakers find international partners, markets and audiences while also strengthening regional industries.
In 2022, for the first time, Berlinale Talents, European Film Market, Berlinale Co-Production Market, and World Cinema Fund jointly received MEDIA 360° funding under the Berlinale Pro* umbrella. This allows all four components of Berlinale Pro* to share synergies, resources and knowledge, and to develop and improve together.
The goals of MEDIA 360° include include:
- Using synergies between existing industry fields, developing further potential for cooperation and thus having an impact on the entire value chain.
- Improving the efficiency and competitiveness of experienced European players at European and international level
- Testing of new business models
- Development of sustainable and more environmentally friendly solutions for the audiovisual sector.

Words of Welcome 2025
"On behalf
of Creative Europe MEDIA, welcome to another unforgettable edition of Berlinale
Talents! Like the festival itself, this initiative was designed as a space
where filmmakers from around the world could exchange ideas and learn from each
other. Its unwavering belief in dialogue, cultural diversity, and the power of
artistic expression makes it a programme like no other, and we are extremely
proud to have supported it from the very start. Berlinale Talents has changed
the lives and careers of countless creatives. It supports their access to the
industry and connects them with fellow cinephiles. We encourage all of you to
embrace this edition’s theme: Listen to the many stories, voices, and ideas you
will be hearing all around you for the next few days. We trust you will make
the most of your time in Berlin, and look forward to seeing where your creative
paths will take you next."
