In this Talents Time with a discipline-specific focus on camera and lighting, you will have the chance to discuss your experiences as well as expectations regarding one of today's most cutting-edge innovations: wheras LED screen backgrounds and other mixed reality solutions for film sets might still sound like a far-away future to some, more and more see in them a sustainable addition or even alternative to the classical green screen, which can help to unleash creativity and make also smaller productions more cost-efficient and less harmful ecologically. Inspired through insights from current alumni projects and fuelled by the up-to-date expertise of the ARRI professionals, everyone in this Talents Time is invited to gain understanding about the status quo of the tech and feedback what’s necessary to break it down also to the realities of one own’s virtual and real worlds.
Jared Raab
Jared is a Canadian cinematographer and filmmaker. He recently shot "BlackBerry" that is screening at Berlinale Competition. In 2020, he participated in Berlinale Talents.

Stefan Söllner
Stefan Söllner is an engineer in media technologies and has an academic background in lighting engineering and perception theory. Stefan joined ARRI in 2017 for lighting systems, and did the technical stage design and build for Volucap and Dark Bay. Now he’s with ARRI’s Virtual Production team and responsible for the technical integration.

Christoph Hoffsten
With a background in electronics engineering, Christoph Hoffsten has worked at rental houses for many years and has been Head of the Camera Department at ARRI Rental in Berlin since 2003. Known by many cinematographers for his personal level of service, Christoph has a wealth of experience customizing and detuning lenses in pursuit of unique looks.
