As storytelling extends beyond the big screen and the 90 minute feature, what is the potential of building new financing partnerships across media industries and extending the value of the stories and intellectual property that you create? As traditional film finance routes dry up, this session will suggest possible new alliances and partnerships with online networks, multiplatform broadcasters, brands, agencies and other new financiers.

Ben Grass

Managing director of Pure Grass Films, he produced BEYOND THE RAVE and KIRILL, which won a Webby for Best Drama Episode in 2009. Pure Grass Films are currently working on four transmedia properties and financing a contemporary remake of Oliver Twist (TWIST). Grass was formerly responsible for Sony Pictures Digital in Europe and was senior advisor for Corporate Strategy at the BBC.

Michel Reilhac

Independent, interactive filmmaker, story architect and a pioneer in Virtual Reality filming. His latest VR film VIENS! premiered at Sundance 2016. He is also Head of Studies for the Venice Biennale College, and Head of the Cross Media College at Scuola Holden in Torino, Italy. From 2002-2012, he was Head of Film Acquisitions at Arte France and executive director of Arte France Cinema. In 2012, in recognition for his work at Arte, Michel was named Man of the Year in film by the French trade magazine Le Film Français. For Canal+, he directed TO BE A MAN in 1999, and in 2000 directed KENYA ISLANDS for ARTE. He produced CRY WOMAN, which was in Un Certain Regard of the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, and THE GOOD OLD NAUGHTY DAYS (which he directed) was presented in the Directors‘ Fortnight in 2002.

Liz Rosenthal

Liz Rosenthal is known as a leading international expert on immersive and interactive storytelling and business models. She is programmer of immersive content for the Venice International Film Festival and executive producer at CreativeXR, an immersive content accelerator programme, along with being founder and CEO of Power to the Pixel. She is regularly invited to speak and mentor at major international events.

Lance Weiler

Award-winning writer and director, he is seen as a pioneer for the way he makes and distributes his work. His first feature THE LAST BROADCAST was distributed in over 20 countries, and HEAD TRAUMA premiered at the LA Film Festival in 2006.
