- RIO NEGRO follows the past and the present of Julian Sanchez Chen - one of a few survivors of Maya Achis, whose village of Rio Negro was bloodily destroyed during the Guatemalan Civil War. In his chronicles he records this story of abuse and violence and portrays how capitalism and colonialism threaten to destroy indigenous life until today.
