As the body floats downstream, it passes overworked delivery workers, restless holidaymakers, and distracted families—each too caught up in their own absurd microcosms to see the quiet tragedy passing by.

Talent Bio
Daniel Soares is a German-born Portuguese screenwriter and director. His short films screened at festivals such as Cannes, Telluride, Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Hong Kong, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Shanghai, Winterthur, Seminci and Cairo. They were recognized at festivals such as Cannes (Jury Special Mention), Premiers Plans d'Angers (Grand Jury Prize), IndieLisboa (Best National Short Film), Zagreb Film Festival (Best International Short Film), among others. In 2025, he received a fellowship to participate in the prestigious Ikusmira Berriak residency in San Sebastián, where he is developing his debut feature film, "900 Tons."
