My name is Alberto Balazs, an argentinian-spanish cinematographer based in London. I am interested in human stories, and the language of cinema. My work is characterised by a natural and narrative approach to lighting and I try to work in the boundaries between documentary and fiction. I operate the camera and like to get as close to the project as from early stages of the script. I was selected in 2012 as a young UK Cinematographer for the Berlinale Talent Campus with the short film The Inner Valley shot in 16mm in Argentina and selected at BAFICI and IFFR, among others. Joined to my work as cinematographer, I also work as a Colorist and you will also see some photography as part of my work. We have premiered our first Feature film at the IFFR, Piedra Sola, an etnographic fiction, shot in the north of Argentina, bordering Bolivia. I always look for new projects and collaborations, so don't hesitate to contact me to share your script, stories and challenging ideas.
