April Maxey

I am a narrative short filmmaker based in NYC. My work tends to have a feminist or LGBT aspect to it. My last short film "Polaroid Girl" premiered at Outfest and went on to play at over 45 other (...) festivals around the world. It won 6 awards including "Best Screenplay" at Sicilia Queer Film Festival, in Italy, and "Best International Narrative Short" at Mumbai Queer Film Festival in India. My first short film "Girl Scouting" had it's premiere at Frameline Int'l LGBT Film Festival in 2011. I am originally from Texas and graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn with a BFA in Film/Video. My third short film, "This Is You And Me" was completed in November 2015, and was on of the projects in the 2015 Berlinale Talents Short Film Station.
