Emma is an Australian writer, director and moving-image artist based between London, Chicago and Bogota. mma completed her MFA in film directing under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed filmmaker Bela Tarr, at his Film Factory in Sarajevo. Her other Film Factory mentors include Cristian Mungiu, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Agnieszka Holand, Guy Maddin, Gus Van Sant and Carlos Reygadas. Emma's debut feature PAPAGAJKA premiered at the SXSW Film Festival, and her second feature film, EL VAQUERO, premiered in its home country Colombia at FICCI Cartagena and will soon have its International premiere at a big festival that cannot yet be announced. She is an alumnus of the Torino Film Lab, Berlinale Talents, the Berlinale Short Film Station and the Reykjavík Talent Lab. Emma is part of the artist collective Bistrik7, a group of 20 filmmaker-artists from film.factory who make collaborative projects.
