Kristina Mikhailova

Kristina is a director and producer from Kazakhstan, Central Asia. Kristina presented Kazakhstan at Berlinale Talents, IDFAcademy, EURODOC, DOK Leipzig Co-Pro Market, When East Meet West, CIRCLE (...) Women Doc Accelerator, Docs by the sea etc. She founded the first non-bureaucratic grassroots initiative in the film industry of Central Asia - Women make docs - to make unique Central Asian voices finally heard. She actively engaged in transforming the documentary landscape of the region by attracting financial resources to the field, developing co-production, organizing screenings and industrial sessions in the territory of total lack of infrastructure. As a producer Kristina is working on documentaries with her Algiz film production company. She is a member of the Documentary Association of Europe and European Women's Audiovisual Network
