Łukasz Mańkowski

A wandering spirit who happened to be obsessed with Asian Cinema and food. I write words and stories of people who make films, and I make that through the process of in-depth encounters with (...) filmmakers; in other words--I love the energy of talking&interviewing people. My work can be found in MUBI Notebook, Sight & Sound, Senses of Cinema, Asian Movie Pulse, dwutygodnik, EKRANy, as well as my blog on Asian Cinema, "Kinema Chromatica". Aside from that, I work as a Japanese translator, collaborate with festivals (New Horizons and Five Flavours), and I'm affiliated with the University of Warsaw where I teach about Asian Cinema and prepare my PhD dissertation on Japanese New Wave.
