Mirjam Skal (*1996) is a composer and orchestrator based in Zurich, Switzerland. She is currently completing her master‘s degree in film scoring at the Zurich University of the Arts and has been working as a freelance composer over the past few years. Her work includes music for several animated shorts, advertisements, documentaries and music for the national Swiss television (SRF). As a synesthete, Mirjam‘s approach to composing is very intuitive. She is fascinated by combining live instruments with electronic soundscapes to create evocative textures. Last summer she recorded and conducted her orchestral composition “Anima” with the Budapest Art Orchestra.
