Wilmarc was born in Haiti and came to France at the age of 4. Very early on, he developed a passion for astronomy, then for cinema. After studying journalism and cinema at university, he made his first short films, in which he explored his favorite themes: time, origins and the invisible. His films Brave and Before the lights shut down have been selected and screened at several national and international festivals. He is currently developing Vodou, his first feature film, which echoes his roots, his family history and his grandmother, a Vodou priestess.
